My name is Andrei Erichsen and I am born in Saint Petersburg in Russia. In 1996 I moved to Denmark and in 2001, I entered the Photography Line at the Media College in Denmark. 2001 was the first year the school offered programs in digital photography; hence, I am educated and trained in both analog and digital photography.
Education
During my apprenticeship, I worked at Aarhus University in Denmark, in Johannesburg in South Africa and in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
After my graduation, I worked as an Aerial Photographer. In a little Cessna 172 I flew across Europe taking pictures for marine navigation purposes.
Work
I criss-crossed Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, France, Italy and Denmark. And above all, it felt great to be above all.
I have a huge collection of aerial photographs with GPS data attached. Ports, harbours, marinas, inlets, locks etc. Please ask me for details if you are interested.
Because of the economical crisis in 2009 I changed my line of work and went with my previous education as an Electrical Engineer. Luckily, my new job offered a lot of business traveling. That took me to Greenland, Iceland, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Russia and, naturally, I always had my camera with me!
Many pictures on this site have been taking during trips to Israel, Russia, the Netherlands and Turkey.
Nowadays
I will keep shooting new pictures, and I sell my pictures – in digital as well as printed versions.
One of series I have already sold is the Classic Cars-series. The pictures were printed on to large panels of sound absorbing material. Such a solution provides better acoustics and is perfect for big offices or other noisy places.
This website is my collected works from different jobs different places, and different periods in my life; and they reflect different styles and formats; it is a mixture of film and digital shoots, and of old and new.
